New trailer and release date for Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal are set for October. Classic 1999 RPG is revisited in anime.


Graphinica Studios and Yokohama Animation Lab today released a new trailer for Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal, revealing the design and animation quality of the episodes (check it out below).

With medium production, the series premieres in October 2022 featuring Saori Hayami dubbing the character Serafina and performing the open "Tear of Will".

The anime will revisit the world of the classic RPG Legend of Mana (Seiken Densetsu) developed by Square Enix and released in 1999 for the Playstation 1. Beloved by fans the game got a remaster in 2021.

The story is set in the fictional world of Fa'Diel where the Great Tree of Mana was burnt down 900 years ago, diminishing its magical power and sparking a war between fairies, humans and other beings.

The tree has since recovered while remaining dormant and the various realms of the world have been stored in ancient artifacts. It is then up to the protagonists to restore Fa'Diel to its original state.

The technical team will be directed by Masato Jinbo (who directed "Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari 2"), with music by Yoko Shimomura (she composed for the game) and character design by Tarou Ikegami (same role in "Lapys Re:Lights").

Among the other voices Shiloh will be dubbed by Nobunaga Shimazaki (the Yuno from "Black Clover"), Elazul will be played by Yuichiro Umehara (the Goblin Slayer-san in "Goblin Slayer") and Pearl will be dubbed by Kaori Nazuka (the Mount Lady from "Boku no Hero Academia").
