Touko Machida (Akame ga Kill!, Samurai Champloo ) writes the script while Yoshiko Saitô (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi) is the animation director and also handles the character design. The music is composed by Yasuharu Takanashi (Naruto Shippuuden, Fairy Tail) and Johannes Nilsson (Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi, Kyochuu Rettou) with Pony Canyon (Shingeki no Kyojin, Violet Evergarden) and Kadokawa (Your name, Konosuba) as producers.

The light novel series Isekai Nonbiri Nouka, also known as Slow-Life Farming Fantasy, written by Kinosuke Naito and illustrated by Yasumo, began publication in 2016 through the self-publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was subsequently acquired by Enterbrain, a Japanese publisher and division of Kadokawa. The publisher has published 12 volumes since 2017, the last of which was released in Japan on 31 March 2022. A manga adaptation illustrated by Yasuyuki Tsurugi has been serialised since November 2017 in the pages of Fujimi Shobo's shōnen Monthly Dragon Age, a Japanese publisher linked to Kadokawa that specialises in light novels. Currently the work is still open and already has 8 collected volumes in tankōbon format, the last one published on 8 April 2022.

Having died of an illness at the age of 39, Machio Hiraku is given the chance to be reborn in another world. When God asks him what his wish is with the intention of giving him strength, he requests to have a healthy body this time. Moved, God grants it and allows him a second request, to which he asks for a peaceful life. Even more moved, God offers him a third request, for which he asks to know the local language. At such a demonstration of humility, God decides to grant him a fourth request and Machio wishes to fulfil his dream of being a farmer in this new world.
