Suzume no Tojimari (Suzume and the Door Lock), which has been eagerly anticipated since its announcement nine months ago, has just debuted a brand-new trailer and illustration. The movie will hit Japanese theaters on November 11, 2022. Another work by director Makoto Shinkai, known for earlier successes including "Kimi no Nawa," "Tenki no Ko," and "Kotonoha no Niwa," is the feature film. Suzume, a 17-year-old native of the sleepy hamlet of Kyushu, will be the main character of the story. One day she meets a traveller who claims to be in search of a "door". Keeping him company, the girl finds the object in the ruins of the mountain and as if attracted by something decides to open it. This creates a chain effect with several such doors appearing in various places in Japan bringing a great threat. The story will then show Suzume's personal growth as she struggles to overcome an entity from the other side. Besides Shinkai's own direction, the film will have the same technical team as "Kimi no Nawa". The animation will be from CoMix Wave Films studio, with character design by Masayoshi Tanaka, animation direction by Kenichi Tsuchiya and art direction by Takumi Tanji.
