The publisher Earth Star Entertainment released this October the 12th volume of the interesting manga Sengoku Komachi Kuroutan (Agricultural Difficulties of the Sengoku Period), written by Kyouchi Kuto with drawings by Hajime Sawada. 

 The series which is originally a light novel illustrated by Geko Hirasawa, is among the highest rated on Amazon Japan this 3rd week of October. In total the novel + manga surpassed 1 million copies sold in 2021, a number that should be considerably higher today. A promotional video was released around the same time featuring illustrations from the manga (see below). Sengoku Komachi follows young Shizuko Ayanokouji, a high school student fascinated by ancient history who currently attends a respected agricultural school.

One day on her way home she is surprised by a sudden downpour and momentarily loses consciousness. Awakening a few minutes later Shizuko notices that she has traveled back in time to the Japanese Sengoku period (1467-1573 A.D.).

There she meets none other than Oda Nobunaga, the greatest politico-military leader of the period famous for his brutality against his enemies. Realizing that Shizuko has advanced agricultural knowledge, he puts her in charge of an almost unproductive village and orders the girl to use everything she knows to change the situation. Shizuko will now need all her modern knowledge in order not to be eliminated in case of failure.
