Isekai Ojisan gets a new trailer and a release date of July 6th

REVIEW

Isekai Ojisan (The Uncle from Another World) is one of those animes that left viewers undecided about their feelings about it.

The series features fairly far-fetched visual language that clearly falls into the old "love it or hate it" conundrum, promising a fun and colorful tale.

Nearing the start the anime received a new trailer and illustration today confirming a premiere on July 06, 2022. Production is by modest studio Atelier Pontdarc (the same as "Ganbare Douki-chan") with overall direction by Shigeki Kawai (was assistant director on "Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga").

The story follows a young man fascinated by SEGA video games who due to an unfortunate incident has been in a coma for 17 years.

Upon awakening much older he claims to his nephew that he has spent all this time in another world and has even learned to use magic. After showing evidence Ojisan wants to help the family to rise financially however his adventurous past will have great influence on the present.

CAST

Among the other members of the technical team the series will have script by Kenta Ihara (wrote for "Mieruko-chan") and character design by Kazuhiro Ota (same position in "Natsu no Arashi!").

In the dub Ojisan will be voiced by Takehito Koyasu (the Roswaal from "Re:Zero"), Takafumi will be played by Jun Fukuyama (the Matsumoto from "Vivy Fluorite Eye's Song"), Fujimiya will be dubbed by Mikako Komatsu (the Maam from "Dragon Quest Remake") and Elf will be voiced by Haruka Tomatsu (the Asuna from "Sword Art Online").

The manga by author Hotondo Shindeiru has surpassed 1.5 million copies sold in 7 published volumes.
