Toaru Kagaku no Railgun
gets a light novel adaptation and is one of June's best-selling titles.
Finally, author Kazuma Kamachi chose to convert Toaru Kagaku no Railgun's plot into a light novel to commemorate the game's 15th anniversary. The manga for the spin-off series began in 2007, but it has now evolved into something as good (if not better) than its mother work, "Toaru Majutsu no Index."
Episodes
Railgun won three popular animes in 2009 (24 episodes), 2013 (12 episodes) and 2020 (25 episodes) that turned young Mikoto Misaka and her friends into world-renowned characters.
Sequels are not ruled out although no project is currently announced.
For those who don't know it, the story features Misaka as the third Level 5 of the famous Academy City thanks to her incredible electromagnetic powers. In detriment to her position she's just a moody teenager losing her temper when it comes to the young Touma Kamijou.
Such power inevitably attracts bad people interested in harming her or exploiting her abilities, which puts her and her friends Saten, Kuroko and Uiharu at risk.
