Manga Ojou to Banken-Kun will receive an anime in 2023. The original has sold over 2 million copies.
A production announcement confirmed today that the manga Ojou to Banken-kun (The Miss and Her Watchdog) will gain an anime adaptation sometime in 2023. Blending comedy, action and romance the work written and illustrated by author Haru Hatsu began in December 2018 through Bessatsu Friend magazine. The 8th standalone volume will hit Japanese bookstores on October 13 with the manga surpassing 2 million copies sold. The story centres on teenager Isaku Senagaki who will be attending 1st collegiate year at a school far away from her hometown. She made this choice because she is the granddaughter of a Yakuza boss and therefore feared at her old high school and is unable to make friends.
However, Isaku will not go alone since Keiya Utou, her overprotective bodyguard of 26 years, falsified his own identity to study in the same school and keep her close to his eyes.He wishes to prevent boys interested in dating Isaku from approaching her because he believes that his protégé is too young for this kind of relationship. Keiya however has no idea that Isaku has been in love with him for quite some time.
The announcement did not reveal any technical crew or dubbing cast which should be mentioned in a future update.
