Announced in June this year, Oshi no Ko (Chosen Child) got a new theme illustration today and has confirmed its debut sometime in 2023. An event is scheduled for 11 December when more information will be revealed. It has since been said that the first episode will be 90 minutes long and the protagonist Hoshino will be played by Rie Takahashi (Airine from "Akuyaku Reijou Nanode Last Boss wo Kattemimashita"). With production by Doga Kobo the anime will cover Aka Akasaka's new manga, which has surpassed 3 million copies sold in 8 published volumes (the 9th issue will arrive in Japan on October 19).

Akasaka is also the author of "Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai", a successful romantic comedy with 3 seasons of the anime released and a movie in production.

Oshi no Ko will tell the story of Gorou Honda, a small town doctor and big fan of teenage celebrity Ai Hoshino, who is only 16 years old.

To his surprise, one day the girl arrives at the hospital about to give birth! Gorou then reassures her and assures her that she will have a healthy baby, however, the doctor is murdered by a stalker before the surgery. Minutes later he awakens being Hoshino's newborn son, now named Aquamarine.

The series will have overall direction by Daisuke Hiramaki (directed "Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita!") with adapted screenplay by Jin Tanaka (wrote for "Yuru Camp") and character design by Kana Hirayama (same role in "Kanojo, Okarishimasu").
