Yesterday's celebration of Sneaker Bunko's 35th anniversary in Japan revealed that the light book Tenkou-saki no Seiso Karen na Bishoujo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osananajimi Datta Ken will be animated.

The post included several illustrations that hinted at the arrival of future updates with further information, possibly even a debut date.

Written by Yu Hibari with drawings by Shirakomiso, the novel began in 2021 and currently has 6 books published. There is also a manga version drawn by Kina Oyama, with 3 volumes already printed.

The story follows young Hayato Kirishima who has memories of his childhood, around 6 or 7 years old, when he used to play with Nikaido Haruki, his best friend at that time. 

Because they were small and Nikaido had long hair, covering part of her face, Hayato believed she was a boy and even mistook her for a gorilla as they had fun running and getting dirty in the mud.

However, one day Nikaido's parents move to another region and since then they have never spoken to each other again. Time passes and Hayato leaves the countryside for the big city, where he meets a beautiful girl in high school. After connecting some dots, he realizes that he has met his childhood friend again and they both try to make up for lost time.
