Announced in December of last year, 16bit Sensation: Another Layer received a new update today confirming an October 2023 launch.

The anime will be inspired by Tamiki Wakaki's manga but will feature a new protagonist and will be set in modern times.

16bit Sensation (the manga) was set in 1992 following a college student working part-time at a computer store.

However, the place was also dedicated to the creation of independent erotic games (Eroges), targeting consoles that exploded in popularity at the time, such as the Mega Drive and the Super Nintendo.

After some events, the character became an illustrator, needing to overcome shyness while drawing for a more adult audience.

The anime, in turn, should address a similar story, however set in more recent times and targeting current computers and consoles.

Production will be by Studio Silver (not to be confused with Silver Link) with general direction by Takashi Sakuma (he was episode director on "Engage Kiss"). Other staff members will include script by Tatsuya Takahashi (wrote for "Jidou Hanbaiki ni Umarekawatta"), character designs by Masakatsu Sasaki (designed for "Tonikaku Kawaii"), and soundtrack by Yashikin (composed for "Hajimete no Gal").

Kaori will be voiced by Ayako Kawasumi (Saber from "Fate/Stay Night"), Meiko will be voiced by Yui Horie, Konoha will be voiced by Aoi Koga (Kaguya from "Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai"), and Rokuta will be voiced by Abe Atsushi.

As for the author, Tamiki Wakaki is an old acquaintance in Japan remembered for the series "Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai" (The World God Only Knows). This work received popular anime between 2010 and 2013 totaling 3 seasons plus some OVAs (image at the end).
