Light novel Naze Boku no Sekai wo Daremo Oboeteinai no ka?
A production announcement today confirmed that the light novel Naze Boku no Sekai wo Daremo Oboeteinai no Ka? (Why Does Nobody Remember My World?), will receive an anime adaptation.
Promising a release sometime in 2024, the announcement was posted on Media Factory Bunko's twitter, the editorial label under which the novel is published. A website was also raised confirming the project.
This already corresponds to the 3rd work of Kei Sazane adapted for the screens. The author also wrote "Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou" and "Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru", both with anime in production.
Naze Boku no Sekai has a very well drawn manga version by Arikan. Despite the generic plot seen in other works by Sazane, the story is quite interesting and includes a bit of mystery. If it's in the hands of a good studio it might turn out to be something worth checking out.It all starts in a militarized and technological world where humans shared space with 4 other races including demons. A great war took place 100 years ago leading humanity to near extinction due to its inability to use magic.
However, legend has it that a great wizard named Cid sealed the other races in 4 black pyramids called "Cemeteries", scattered around the world. One of them is guarded by a military organization where the protagonist Kai and his friends Saki, Arlan and Jeanne are enlisted.
Before being transferred to another place where she will work for 2 years, Jeanne invites Kai for a walk. As she spoke, everything around her begins to distort and Kai is transferred to another dimension or parallel timeline, where the demons have broken free from the pyramids and are again enslaving and destroying Earth.
After winning his first battle Kai is found by Saki and Arlan however no one remembers him or the world he claims to have come from. What happened?
Illustrated by Neco, the novel hit the market in 2017 and has 9 printed volumes (the manga also has 9 copies). More anime details will be revealed in future updates.
