Second season of Goblin Slayer releases new trailer and confirms start in October.
The long-awaited continuation of Goblin Slayer was announced back in January 2021, receiving spaced updates over the months.
Now being produced by Liden Films, the 2nd season received another video today and finally scheduled the premiere for October 2023, removing suspicions of postponement.
The look remains average but it is worth mentioning that the story and characters have always been the strengths of the series.
Takaharu Ozaki remains as director now assisted by Misato Takada (she was director on "Saiyuuki Reload: Zeroin"). Hideyuku Kurata returns as scriptwriter while Kato Hiromi will be the new character designer.
The anime accompanies an introspective and cautious protagonist nicknamed Goblin Slayer (The Shredder of Goblins), who dedicated his life to hunting and eliminating these creatures after witnessing his sister murdered in childhood.Accustomed to working alone, however, he forms a team of adventurers alongside the charismatic Onna Shinkan, a girl with healing powers; Elf, an archer of the elf race; Dwarf, a dwarf with magical powers related to the earth and Lizardman, a lizard-man with shamanic abilities and a great lover of cheese.
The series adapts the light novel by authors Kagyuu Kumo (text) and Noboru Kannatsuki (illustrations) which surpassed 9 million copies sold according to last year's report.
Curiosity: Kagyuu Kumo started an unreleased light novel called "Blade & Bastard" in December 2022. The work features illustrations by artist So-Bin known for his work on Overlord. Click here to learn more.
