First illustration goes to Blade & Bastard. The author of "Goblin Slayer" and the illustrator of "Overlord" will collaborate on a light novel.


 

The publishing label DRE Novels has released the unfinished image of the 1st volume of Blade & Bastard, a light novel that will arrive in Japanese bookstores on December 9th, 2022.

The work has sparked hype for being written by Kumo Kagyuu (author of "Goblin Slayer") with drawings by So-Bin (illustrator of "Overlord"), two figures already known for the Adventure and Dark Fantasy theme.


 

With the full title Blade & Bastard: Hai wa Atatakaku, Meikyuu wa Honogurai (Blade & Bastard: Ashes Are Hot And Dungeons Are Dark), the story follows adventurer Larmas who spends his days clearing dangerous dungeons in search of treasure left behind by individuals eliminated on quests. One day he discovers the corpse of someone who shouldn't exist in an unexplored region. The mystery only increases when Larmas meets a swordswoman named Zanpan (or Garbage) who presents herself as the sole survivor of a previously decimated group. The 1st volume will contain 264 pages and is on pre-order at websites such as Amazon, Animate Online Shop and Rakuten
