The light novel by Nozomu Mochitsuki (text) and Gilse (illustrations), which sold over 850,000 copies in the first 11 books (Note: This number includes sales of the manga drawn by Mizu Morino), will be adapted into the anime that was revealed 11 months ago.

Merging loly comedy and fantasy Tearmoon will tell the story of Mia Luna, a girl who gets a second chance at life and must prevent her tragic destiny. Previously, she was the selfish princess of the decaying empire of Tearmoon, who, due to her bad attitudes, generated hatred in her subjects and everyone around her. At age 20 Mia is sentenced to death on the guillotine however after execution she returns in time to the time when she was a pre-teen of just 12 years. Remembering everything that can happen, the girl starts an arduous personal transformation, becoming more generous and helpful in order to avoid a new future condemnation. The anime will be directed by Yuushi Ibe (he was assistant director on "Meikyuu Black Company"), screenplay by Deko Akao (aka Hitomi Mieno, she wrote for "Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Motokano Datta"), and character designs by Mai Ohtsuka ( she held the same position in "Machikado Mazoku"). In the dub Mia will be voiced by Sumire Uesaka (Lum from "Urusei Yatsura Remake"), Anne will be voiced by Tomori Kusunoki (Annet from "Spy Kyoushitsu"), and Ludwig will be voiced by Yuuichiro Umehara (the Anoth from "Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha II").
